What is "Direct to Development"?

Direct-to-Development 2 is the Zeros 2 Heroes initiative that gives comic book creators (like you) a shot at being professionally produced. By combining the will of the people and the savvy of industry experts, we've hit upon a great formula for discovering new talent from Winnipeg to to LaLa Land to New Orleans.

The Z2H community had a couple weeks to read and vote on the pitches. Voting (by you!) ended on December 19th. Your votes determined the (kinda) short-list of 6 story pitches.

The pitches were then read, reviewed, examined, taken apart (in a good way!) and put back together by a panel of industry experts. Their goal: To choose the best story out of the bunch.

Not an easy task, to be sure, but, somehow over the course of the last couple weeks they managed this feat. It must've been like the Donner Party of creative meetings...out of the six pitches that went in...only one came out.

So, without further adieu, the second D2D winner is...drum roll---I.SAID.DRUM.ROLL!

The next step for MightyGeko is to have their pitch developed into a 22 page comic book. Paired with a Z2H Editor and a professional (state of the) Art team, the creator's vision will be made into a reality. A reality of awesome. (see also: Bat & Wolf)

Once complete, the Z2H marketing machine will begin pushing the property into the world, using a multitude of industry connections to develop the the creator's vision even further.
