Its a monday, its grey outside, and i am bored at work. and of course its new years eve tonight. not that it matters cause i have to work tomorrow anyways. but i have been thinking up and visualizing some new stuff for some new pitches and wondered... how many of you love kungfu and ninja movies? if you do and know some good ones, please tell me about em! i need ninja/kung fu/samurai type movies new and old to inspire me with some storyline and characters.

Well, Christmas was great. My little cousin got me a comic book!!!! He picked it out, HE picked out the wrapping paper, and HE wrote on the tag in his first grader scrawl. He, then, gave it to me and that was the Best of them all. Aud got me some Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends stuff; Cheese barrettes and a Blo necklace. I also got a sewing machine!!!!

Advice Needed: Blake Undying - Chapter Two

I have been writing Chapter Two of Blake Undying recently, and as often happens when writing, priorities change leaving hard decisions to be made. I have all but the last three pages written out. I had intended this chapter to end with Blake rescuing a child from a tenement fire, and chastising the mother for leaving the building without her child. As I have said before I came up with this concept strictly for ccn. As such Age of Heroes is still young in its evolution. As such things change. When I originally concieved this story it was with the idea of cramming it all into 22 pages. I wasn't even finished the synopsis before I realised that wasn't going to happen. I still felt I could contain the original story arc within a graphic novel or miniseries setting by keeping things simple, sort of.

Comics are entering a time of watered down seen it befores. The mainstrem media only excepts certain ideas from our passion, and even then when those exceptions are allowed in, they are twisted and contorted into the unrecognizable. The future of our medium will rely on the joint efforts of the independent, and some mainstrem companies inorder to save what we love we all have to think not only outside of the box, but outside of the entire world the box has influenced.

I decided to continue with the informative posts. In this installment I'll share with you what tools I use, and why.
The vast majority of those I get at Omer Deserres in Montreal, which would be known to the rest of anglophone Canada as either Deserres or Loomis Art Store.

- Paper: I use bristol boards to pencil and ink. If I am laying down a page or sketching a preliminary concept I'll use a Windpower-produced bristol board, one that is of a lower quality, [...]

I'm back from China! Home in Montreal again, surrounded by family and friends. I'd forgotten how much they love to party, the holidays being the perfect excuse to do it, a lot.
