So, I recently noticed that the six people at the top of the page in front of the Z2H logo seem to be the same people that appear in the panels on the homepage. This made me curious, are these designs based off of actual Z2H staff? I mean, the bearded guy looks to me like he's possibly the same person as ChiefZero's zed.

Am I drawing links where there are none, or am Ion to something here?

FWIW, all my votes are now allocated. And I can see I'm not the only one. The board's already looking pretty volatile and my votes haven't been counted yet. So good luck everyone and let's get some comics made.

Or, when you lay out some vote counts and study them, you can really start to see the system doing its thing.

This is a response to a posting of WillGibson's in the forums, responding to a thread I'd started about the general stats on pitches. It sort of morphed into how votes translate into places on the board, and Will actually told us how many votes he's gotten for his well regarded Alma pitch. (I started this reply there, but then figured it might be of enou [...]

Right.

So.

First things first: congrats to Lord Maim! A pitch that I loved and will love even more to see in development! It'll be fun to watch the process with one of the members.

Next, I'd like to apologize for my absence and to those I haven't answered in Private Messages. I blame Team Fortress 2 and its appeal, as well as Portal and everyone at Valve for makingsuch great and addictive games.

UPDATE - January 31, 2008:

I have just updated my Superhawke pitch with the first three parts of my work in progress sample story. It involves Superhawke, after preventing a major disaster, became a victim of fan perversion.

Check my Superhawke pitch for more.

I f you are a fan check it out and let me know what you think. If you are not a fan check it out and let me know what you think. Then put it in your collection and vote for it, please.

I do have a problem, though. I don't know what happened but my page count went from 22 to 23.

It occurs to me that some of the frustration with the PD has to do with trying to make it do something it's not designed for, like putting a screw into a piece of wood with a hammer... y'know?

A pitch should be short and sweet, and leave a tantalizing trail of breadcrumbs for the suits to follow into the land of development options. The Pitch Doctor is designed very well to prepare this sort of presentation.

As it turns out, the PD is being used to share ideas betwee [...]

So, I joined the Unofficial Thinkup and came up with a pitch for it. Then the 25th rolled around (that's when all the UT pitches were supposed to go public) only I hit the snag of having to move from my home in New York to my dorm in Maryland, getting ready for classes, going to classes, etc. However, I finally found a little bit of time to actually work on my pitch, plus it helps that the sites seems to be mostly up to speed so good work Z2H.

Basically what I' [...]

So I went in for an interview for supervisor at my job Saturday. I didn't really want the job, but I need the promotion for fulltime benefits and more money. You know cuz $8.75/hr isn't cutting it for me. The interview went well, I thought I had a chance...for a second interview at least. They were supposed to "post" the results today.Well, I got a call from my manager saying regretably I didn't make the second cut, but he would like me to apply for when he looks to hire [...]

So this doesn't have anything to do with comics, really, so if that ain't you bag, bail out now!

Anyway, so I was sad to read more about the eminent destruction of Alma College. The real Alma College. In case anyone was curious, the school in my comic is a real place, and most facts presented in the story are, er, facts. I mean, sure, they may not have had a coven of supernaturally-powered girls and may not have been the seat of North America's Lovecraftian Invasion, bu [...]

So last week, as the voting for CCN went live, the kind and benevolent VWG blogged about November's Song in an effort to drum up support for it in my absence, for whichI'm extremely grateful. Commenting on her post, Crackwalker mentioned that he'd considered voting it up, but that he's always held reservations about the pitch...mainly that it "lacked a certain chaos".

Naturally, I was curious as to what he meant, exactly.

I'm a real fan of this pitch and thought I would explain what it was I liked about it.

First of, the premise has real potential for human emotion and drama.

With the development of the characters moving towards questioning if their actions are right holds real moral issues of whether they are helping or just making matters worse.

The supers can get some real depth, after all they just extended their idea of helping to "well, things would be [...]

Howdy folks- now that the galleries are starting to pick up steam, I've decided to start a weekly column to spotlight artists that I feel deserve the special attention of the community. The idea is to encourage the continued growth of all the artists in the community and foster a stronger dialogue among community members. If [...]
