Everybody into the Pool!

Hoo-hah!!!!  It's summertime and the living is easy (or so Janis would have us believe).  Time to get into the pool, and I don't mean only the one in your neighbours back yard!  Everyone knows the CCCN books are nearly finished and will be released SOON!  Hopefully everyone is looking forward to this as much as all the creative talent that has been e

First, let me say how great it has been the past few days to see the level of bloggage increasing again on this site.  It was a sad and lonely few weeks there, whistling into the darkness, hoping no monsters lurked in the bushes or beneath the beds.  Having said that, a number of the blogs and comments have brought to the forefront for me a topic that has been percolating for some tim

What is up with APTN?

Last night Big Dawg 007's story Acceleration was leading the way in week 3 of the APTN, despite the fact it won last week.  Now, when I logged on this morning the home page told me that Beth A Dillon's pitch North Wind had won.  Then on the APTN standing page, Dreamcatche

This is one dream you will definitely want to catch!  With only a few short days left in the second CCCN contest, this time the APTN version you should definitely collect and vote.  Beth Dillon and Big Dawg 007 won big the first two weeks with a couple of great stories and for my money the best story left is Drea

It's Friday! Isn't it?

I don't know about the rest of you out there but it feels like Friday around here (Saturday soon as the minutes click towards midnight).  So what? you ask.  So plenty!  Isn't there supposed to be a new winner of CCN:APTN this evening?  I mean I think I read that somewhere, though maybe that's been changed and I just didn't get the memo.  Anyway, if the c

No, not Fetternity.  I am referring to the fact that the CCCN books are all nearing completion.  I don't know how much I am aloud to say about the process so let me just say this for the nonce: Minus One is fortunate to have an unbelievable art team working on it!!!!!  Even better, you don't have to take my word for it.  Just head on

Everyone All Left?

We often hear (and rightly so) that the creative side of the brain is the right side.  And of course the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body meaning, in theory if not in practice, that most creative people are left handed.  At least that is what I think.  So to test out this theory I'd like to propose a little straw poll aimed at discovering which of the Z

Ummm, would you believe that didn't quite come out the way I intended?  What I meant to say is that my blog is on top of hers.  Wait!  That sounds bad too.  I mean our blogs are here.  Together.  One above the other.  Like  a couple, sort of.

What I guess I'm really trying to say is that I agree with her.  On the topic of APTN and votin

Today I have finished the top 100 days of my life!  What a ride this has been since March 1!  To be clear I have had better days (proposing, getting married, my son being born are three examples that spring to mind) but never a run of great days like this past fourteen weeks (plus 2 days).

In that time I have had four articles published in a local magazine and photos I took in

Collaboration - A Blessing or a Curse?

Posted by Tenzil Kem in Untagged

Truthfully, it can be a little of both, and at the same time too!  Comics are a unique medium for the level of collaboration they require.   Along with the other winners of the CCCN I am discovering the joys and the pitfalls of having your vision brought to life by someone else.  Of course there are ways around this, such as writing and illustrating your own comic, but then
