After an excruciatingly long week my computer is finally back up and running. And as a welcome home present I find this waiting for me:

Blake Undying Test Cover

Some of you may already have seen this on the corporate blog but for those who haven't, this is the second pass of a cover concept that Kuba has put forward for Blake Undying. It isn't the final version, and the design may actually be quite different in the finished version, but just for the heck of it, I thought I'd fire up Photoshop (since I had to reinstall it anyhow. .. *sigh*) and see what it would look like with a title and logo.

The mockup is actually pretty cool. Have a gander:

Now that's just spiffy. What do you think folks?

EDIT: Here's a sligtly redesigned version with a more traditional comics dress, plus I added the tagline to the bottom. Click the picture for the full size version.

That is so very cool. I did catch it on the corporate blog, but to see it with title and everything makes it all seem much more real. And welcome back!

In hindsight, I've noticed that my d20 instincts have probably placed the logo in the wrong place. Traditionally, the logo would be in the upper left, would it not? Followed by the issue number below, etc?

Initially, I'm pretty sure that will be the only way to get it. After that? Who's to say. *fingers crossed*

It'd been cool if Z2H hooked up some sort of deal with Lulu or some other online printing thingamajig. I'd really prefer a hardcopy of these comics when done. Maybe an anthology? Or rather... 2 volumes, 6 issues at a time? I dunno what'd work best, alls I know is I want it in book form...

Lulu.com is not a bad idea... I've been thinking about setting up Crackwalker there

What about Comixpress or Ka-Blam?

Or, stay local to BC and use SIPS Comics. See www.wedocomics.com for details.

Wow. That would be awesome, wouldn't it? A gigantic 'Blake Undying' poster of the cover?

If we could somehow get these things in print I wouldn't even mind Blake getting the cover (it's a cool cover and it was the first winner after all). It's funny to read this discussion as just a day or two before I was thinking that we should have two anthologies of six books to profile and highlight the first winners (of course this is easy for all of us who have won to say). I do agree with Will, however, that one way or another I WANT my story in print, and I would love to have all the others as well.

Ooooh, *anthology*. It sinks in now. Here when Will thought this, I was thinking future issues of the individual comics. If there were to be a group compilation, I wasn't trying to steal the cover. Sorry, I was thinking something else. *dur*

Yeah, yeah, I meant a collection of the first dozen books [split however makes sense]. Maybe super-size them with the Beta-books too, although to be honest I have no idea how many of them there are [I know of 2... were there others?] The only problem, of course, is money and stuff, as those cost cash and would theoretically generate cash, although it could be fairly easy in that each book's profits would be halved, and and then one half would be split in 6 or 7 or however many authors there were, and so on and so forth. That's an accountant problem, not mine. But still.

I was trying to figure out a way to get a hardcopy as well, these ideas forwarded are good. Then we(meaning Z2H) could partner with a comic shop chain to A)promote the site and B) have the published works potentially reach more peoples and C) it would give them wares to flog at comicon type stuff

Dammit, and so close to being done too. Well, while I'm murdering people, in for a penny, in for a pound I suppose.
