Out of all the characters that I've created, Ikecha Namiko has to be my favorite. The reason being that I've worked on her for three years before Fortress Avalon started as a project. While she had been known as different names, and that she has little resemblance to the original character that I had created, it was still three years of evolution for her character. The majority of the characters that had been created for Fortress Avalon were made either by the project's co-creator (who created Kodin), or I created them with less thought that I had with Namiko (or at least that's what I think). And Namiko is the first character that I created that made it into a book.

I think that when Fortress Avalon finally starts it's run, Namiko will be one of the popular characters.

With that said, I have the first eight issues scripted, and ready to go after Issue 1's done. All I have to say about them is that there are demons, fan-service (heh, it's going to ruin some people's expectations), Namiko and Kodin getting jobs, Kodin falling in love (I wonder how many people would side with him on this one)

Shiba, I look forward to reading more about Ikecha in your stories. I like what I've seen so far!

That's great to hear! It's already hard to write with someone else's characters - I know the first webcomic I wrote was created by my friend, and it was so hard to get to know the title character when I wrote for it. It's so much easier to build from the ground up :)

Heh, I know how it is with working on characters that you didn't create, though it's something that will eventually happen when you work in comics. Heh, I ended up writing short stories about characters so that I could get their personalities down, with the exception of Kodin, who is loosely based on a friend.

Writing stories on your characters is actually a really great idea. The only way I ended getting to know that character in Hector! (the webcomic) was by writing him more and more. I'll have to use the short story approach sometime. For Bat and Wolf, I lucked out - two of the principal leads (Campbell and Madison) are based on close friends, and Montague is (loosely) based on me.
