I'm totally not an artist myself (I respect what you guys do quite a bit), so I thought I'd share a competition with everyone related to game art if anyone's interested. There's one just for women to get a scholarship into an online game art program, and another revolved around submitted 2D or 3D art for classes. You can also get subscriptions to the Game Developers Magazine andIGDA (International Game Developers Association) memberships.
