Truthfully, I've been doing nothing but (try to hide from everyone I know that I am) re-reading the old Dragonlance trilogies and anticipating Metal Gear Solid 4 like it's going to hold the answer to all life's secrets. But as interesting as my FABULOUS BORING LIFE IS, I'm supposed to be blogging about my game:
I haven't quite hashed out the specifics of my module yet, but I know the kind of story I want to tell. It's.... a murder mystery, in reverse. It's a quest to find out why someone is *alive* when by all rights they should be dead. The answer seems obvious... until you take into consideration the psychological profiles of the major players.
It's a little trite, but I had this utterly charming idea of delivering the narrative in two pieces. There's rumours in the town, and "memory echos" if you look in all the right places (and by right places, I... I mean CONSPICUOUS places- I don't want to make the people evaluating this thing work TOO hard :P). You can ignore one part of the story in favour of the other, but the fun is picking up all the pieces one by one and trying to make sense of it. The rumours are only restless hearsay without the truth, and the truth is nothing but a confusing- and if I do my job right, *disturbing*- tangle of half-remembered emotion. Both sides are intruiging enough of their own, but eye-opening when put together. Well, that's the intent at least.
On a not really but sort of related note, I am vaguely insulted that NWN Gnomes are so markedly malformed. D: Oh Gnomes: no one likes you, BioWare renders you in an unattractive manner and WotC kicked you out of the Fourth Edition PHB, but I will be your sole defender, forgotten noble race. I will do you good.

It sounds like you've got a great idea started there! The mystery already has me intrigued. And as for gnomes, my mother-in-law has one of these in her yard. It's Ikea's platonic garden gnome, the very essence of the gnome.

Me and a friend buried a garden gnome (in the garden) little red boot sticking out. So stoic and cute.

As you wish: Red boot sticking out Moxie giggled and took a picture. Friendly patted the fresh earth. Moxie stuffed the gnome in her canvass bag Friendly invited Moxie over to show off her new garden. Moxie's mom laughed and said, "I don't want that silly looking thing in my yard!" Roomie was on the phone to Bro "She made $70 at the flea market but couldn't sell that darn gnome" Moxie put the gnome in the hall closet. Roomie protested. Moxie brought the gnome home. Shera threatened to throw the gnome in the garbage bin. Moxie was invited to Shera’s place for Christmas dinner. Mrs. E wrapped the Santa gnome in a gift box and mailed it to her niece Shera.

Gnomes are all right in Everquest 2. They've got kickass Int. and make for more than decent mages. And they don't look *that* bad, either... Still, I'd never play one.
