I'm the writer on ReBoot ReGenerated, and I'd like to thank everyone who's showed up here with their comments so far... it's all about refining the concept, that's why we're here! I'm told some of the website issues are being remedied as we type, and things will probably shake out for the better in the next couple of days. So stick with us, and we'll try to answer your questions and incorporate your best ideas.

Hi there Steven here - one of the Producer's on ReGenerated. I'm pretty proud of what we accomplished with our pitch and I hope that it is well-received. Angelo did a HUGE amount of research, both into the previous series as well as various current technologies - I hope it shows. For the record, we aren't attempting to do away with the past show. In fact, part of our story traces the history of the virus, Pathogen, allowing us to delve into many nuggets of the past, a past that goes into and beyond the previous series, while revealing a wild new future. Hey there wanted to drop a line and say, Though I admire that you want a new cast. I would like some closure for the old cast. Even maybe if Cache is Dot's Bob's son?.. It would be like a legacy thing and we can follow along Cache's adventure now?

But right now it feels you are leaving the old fans hanging and just speaks -screw mainframe, kill them all and bring in new people. Closure would be good. Personally, I think you guys have the best pitch. Your vision comes the closest to capturing the spirit or the early seasons of Reboot. It's unfortunate, though, that you guys did not include Bob, Dot, and Mainframe in the pitch. While I have no trouble accepting a fresh new start, hardcore Reboot fans are the one that are voting. I don't think they will be willing to accept the lack of their favorite characters and locations.

After a lot of thought, I like this pitch, though it is third in the line-up. I just loved the other characters too much. However, if this does win I won't be disappointed. You have a great artist and solid plot. Just please, as everyone keeps saying, give us closure. The pain lingers if you don't.

I do not want anything from the origional Reboot (graphic wise)to change. Nor do I want characters from the origional ReBoot series to change or go away. I want the design to stay the same from the origional ReBoot, otherwise it will be something completely different and you might as well give the show a new name. We all grew up with the characters and magnificent images and we want to re-connect with them again. I want all of the characters to all be exactly the same and maybe introduce one or two new characters. I want to see how much they have grown and see their new upcoming challanges. I think some things from the last series need to be established which werent established very well. I would like to see a little more romance in the series thsi time (when they arent fighting). I think that way you will attract different audiences and different age groups. I have always loved the storyline between Matrix and AndrAIa and would love to see that expanded on a lot more. Maybe even see them have a child. I have read some fantastic ReBoot fan fiction that I think would make some wonderful episodes. Please dont ruin the origional show by turning it into something that looks completely different and then put ReBoots name on it.. I would rather have nothing then that

i love your concept of new reboot, keep up the new ideas!! don't lose the original ideas of the "REBOOT!" and as i remember the original they use to play in their world as playing game and change their forms as pressing the button, shouting "REBOOT!"

Personally, I think your pitch is the third worst pitch, and that's strictly because The Last User and The Last Guardian are so god-awful. Your story is okay--nothing stands out, and it is very similar to the other ideas. You have NONE of the original characters, which, let me tell you, is totally what the original fans of Reboot want. You got that spot on!

Also, your idea and concept art resemble Osmosis Jones way too much, and no one needs that. I honestly don't see how anyone who was a fan of Reboot could even consider this idea.

For the record, we've always intended to show what happens between the time that Megabyte took over the Principal Office and the point where the ReGenerated storyline starts, (i.e. The Hunt)... but we thought that so much time had passed since the airing of the season four cliffhanger that we had to begin somewhere else. I conceived the new characters and storyline as being a sort of bookend to resolving the cliffhanger and taking ReBoot into the future, giving it somewhere to grow. But, if we can't learn from the past, we're doomed to repeat it, right? Megabyte may have vanished, but he hasn't been vanquished. The old Guardians have been scattered, or assimilated by Guardian Corporation, in the aftermath of The Hunt. In fact, the deep-throat operative who alludes to having been a part of the Guardian Collective is none other than... Turbo! Our team of sprites are good at what they do, but if they hope to defeat Pathogen, they're gonna need some help. That's just a start. We have plans to resolve the stories of all of the old characters. Of course since Enzo, Phong and Welman were captured by Megabyte along with the Principal Office, things didn't turn out quite so well for them.

Even if you plan to, as you say, resolve the stories of all of the old characters, you're still discarding the characters that made ReBoot what it was for us. In this treatment it seems that they're nothing more than clutter to be swept away, at best loose ends to tie up. I understand that you can't just start off with The Hunt - too much time has passed since Season 4 was aired, and you need to draw in masses of new fans rather than pleasing a small core of die-hards. However, if you discard the characters of ReBoot, and its central location, what is left and why call it ReBoot at all? You have a nifty idea, incorporating open source technology into your pitch. I would have liked to see that incorporated into ReBoot itself.

Slackbot, saying that we've discarded the original characters is overstating the case a bit, I think. What we've tried to do is incorporate them into a modern context where the interconnectivity of systems is everything. Check out the synopsis rewrite, which should be up soon. I think it might help clear up some of your concerns.

I agree with what Slackbot said, but I'm eager to see all rewrites, save one. Originally, it did say that Mainframe was destroyed and MB mysteriously vanished. It could be very interesting, but with Mainframe gone, the return point for every season, it would be very far-gone from the original. As a spino-ff though, it would make an interesting read. I await the revised version with eager eyes.

Thanks for the reply. I will be watching for updates. Unless you've revised the story hugely, however, the characters we know and love are still not there are the beginning. Now, keep in mind that the revival is not happening all at once, but in a series of steps. The first is the comic, one issue at first. If that issue sells well, it will be a miniseries. However, if that comic calls itself "ReBoot" but is about none of the characters we remember, the fans will not be happy. Unhappy fans = fans not spending their money = comics not selling -> no more comics -> and the revival stalls out. So, even if you plan to bring the Mainframers in later, I can't support this approach. There's too much at stake.

I Am A Huge And long time Fan Of Reboot and Think That The Charecters,Well the main Charecters should look the same and the city of Mainframe be upgraded and look diffrent but have furtures from the origal Series.

Personally I like the basic idea... It just needs work. The style of the art is not bad, but drifts from the original ReBoot style. Personally, I'd just like to see more updates; you promised daily updates, but that hasn't happened, and in fact I can't find much that's been updated at all. Get some new character concepts up, give us multiple options for looks; you have a decent idea, but because so much of it is new, it's hard for us to tell you how to refine it. Get some alternate versions of Cache or Bus up. Give the characters that don't have any concept art some. Really, this is personally my second favorite; it saddens me that it seems to be so quiet.

Hey guys, I'm actually really digging your concept. I think it's rather brave for you to tackle an entirely new cast and location, but I can see it being done (and I'm a hardcore fan of the original, so we're not all closed minded). I still think the pitch could use a lot of refining, and I'd love to see a stronger script example, but I'm looking forward to seeing more work, especially the designs for the rest of the Sprites.
