Prof WhizzyWig here. There have been a couple cool updates that ya'll should be made aware of regarding the ReBoot comic book. Check it.
First off, I'm definitely in the market for a new title for the ReBoot comic book. Several have been suggested but I'm not totally sold yet. That said, the first book will definitely (for now) be named Paradigms Lost. That was Slackbot's suggestion and I really liked it. I'm terrible at naming stuff so suggest away!
Smartens (our designer) and I met with Julian Lawrence (the editor hired by Z2H) last friday and we discussed the role of the artists and who will be doing what. We decided that a test page was necessary to determine each artist' s primary skills. Afterwards, we'll nail down what each artist will be doing. That meant I needed to churn out a page of script, which I did over the weekend, and passed around this morning. I'll probably post it later for everyone to check out.
Meanwhile, I've written a full page-by-page outline of book 1, and a short summary of book 2. I'm expecting that this story might need about 6 books to be told properly. I haven't outlined the rest of the books yet but I have it in point form in my notebook, so don't get attached to that number just yet. Tonight I begin writing the actual first book. Woot!
Meanwhile, many of you have been asking about the cookies I promised to send out for all those nice chappies that entered my Awesome and Another Awesome contests. Turns out that sending food to other countries is either impossibly expensive or simply impossible depending on where you live. Smartens and I are coming up with something better... something that might have value later on if you know what I mean.
ChiefZero has informed us that he intends to create a separate website for the Arrival team to blog and post material regarding the creation process of the comic. That's all I know about that right now, but stay tuned (as if you wouldn't).
I think that's it for now. Oh yeah - smartens and I are collaborating on a "marketing guide" for you guys to use to promote your CCN entries. It's a mish-mash of things we did during the ReBoot contest. It should be, um, rather interesting. Look for that next week, I think.

I was wondering about the cookie passing through customs... Glad to hear you all have thought of a solution. ^^ More great progress as usual!

Enzo: I sent the script to Julian, who will be coordinating the artistry. You should hear from him soon.

Awesome, always great to see your updates, and I can't wait to see the new website, not to mention the comic itself eventually. Personally, I'm still rather attatched to the name "Ascension" for the comic, but I've seen some other cool names suggested, and I'm sure you'll pick a great one. Are you still trying to find names for Enzo's keytool? I haven't thought of one yet myself, but just wondering if people should keep suggesting some.

No cookie? Awwww! Well, at least this way I don't have to worry about it getting smashed in transit or stopped at customs I suppose... Six books? Awesome! The more the better! And as for names... ergh, I'll need to have a think about that and check back to see what's already been suggested. 'Occam's Keytool' springs to mind, as that's taken from Occam's Razor (aka the lex parsimoniae) and the Latin principle roughly translates as 'entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity'. Which kinda reminds me of Gnosis.

I like Ascension too, but someone pointed out the similarity in theme to Daemon Rising. I just can't shake my worries. I'm spending a lot of time trying to alter the story so it's different from Daemon. More suggestions needed!

ReBoot Suggestion: I said it before in the last update for the comic and I'm going to say it again here since you want suggestions. 8P For Enzo's keytool's name I suggest Alt. Unless you're going to use the name for something else. Alt: Alternate key for the name of a keytool. Just a suggestion...

I have to confess I like Spark for Enzo's keytool - but with a twist. Since what we know of keytool names (and most names generally) in ReBoot canon is that they're named after computer terms, why not SPARC? For those who don't know, it's a type of microprocessor. It suits his personality, and of course fits AndrAI's nickname, more or less. As for a name for the comic itself, I confess I'm lacking in inspiration on that front. I still prefer "The Code War", but Paradigms Lost has it's charms. For some reason Enzo's storyline brings "ReBoot: Into the Dark" to mind for me...

Spark or SPARC is a perfect name for Enzo's keytool. I wish I was creative enough to think up names like that. :(

I love SPARC as Enzo's keytool's name. Great idea. And, ooooh, a page of script coming up... ^^ yummy!

I just got to a part in the outline where I have to deal with Welman. I have to admit, I'd drawn. We need to have a discussion on him...

I missed this yesterday since I've keep practicing. I KNEW this was starting to feel like school. I'm practcing for a test! Ouch! You know even though I went to art school, I could wait to get out. Now I'm being sucked back in. With a salary. I'm awaiting my test paper sire.

Names names names... Real quick I thought of something. I'll definitely have to put more time into it, but here's my suggestion for now. ReBoot Arcanum. It rolls off the tongue nicely, but this one really requires a deep tie-in with the plot. At this point I'm not sure how much mystery will be involved, because we've been spoiled a lot XD But if the webcomic is presented in a captivating way that makes everything a big secret until the end, this title could work. I dunno, I just like that word, "arcanum." It might now work all that well...

I may not be posting comments here as much anymore, but I look forward to the final product.

Prof Whizzywig: A question regarding the books. A book is 22 pages long, right? Given the epicness of the A and the B plots, would 132 pages be enough to tell a story? Unless it's really true that a picture is really worth a 1000 words. Maybe I'm just used to reading mangas that have 128 pages or more per volume.

Any DBZ fans out there? I just re-watched the very first DBZ episode and realized it's actually called "Arrival"!! LOL that blew my mind!!

Will the blog be on ZtoH? How about sending us a free comic! I won't be on this site alot; I have finals. Afterwards I will post more stuff on my ideas and stories/ scenes for comic whenever I get the chance. Good to hear from you again Prof. WhizzyWig.
