When I get mad I post song lyricsPosted by Crackwalker in Untagged |
"Mother Of Pearl" by Nellie McKay
Feminists don't have a sense of humor
Feminists just want to be alone (boo-hoo)
Feminists spread vicious lies and rumor
They have a tumor on their funny bone
They say child molestation isn't funny
Rape and degradation's just a crime (lighten up, ladies)
Rampant prostitution, sex for money (what's wrong with that)
Can't these chicks do anything but whine
Dance break
Woo-hoo
(Take it off)
They say cheap objectification isn't witty, it's hot
Equal work and wages worth the fight (sing us a new one)
On demand abortion, every city (okay, but no gun control)
Won't these women ever get a life
Feminists don't have a sense of humor (poor Hilary)
Feminists and vegetarians
Feminists spread vicious lies and rumor
They're far too sensitive to ever be a ham
That's why these feminists just need to find a man

So I've been busy lately - I landed script number 4 - YAY. Should have it done tomorrow. Been doing a lot of collaboration with Titan.Inc - we have a shared appreciation for spaceships and giant robots. Good things are developing.
Hero High is looking fantastic. We've started inks now! I can't say enough about Diego - he's a treat to work with. Definitely headed for greatness. It's so exciting to see little bits of the other CCCN books coming out.
I just today heard back about a job interview - I don't want to say too much about it so I don't jinx myself. It's on Monday - this job would represent a major career change.
I wrote up some pages of the Teenage Godz script - more coming when I get the chance. Glad to see so many new pitches coming out. The PlayWRITE campaign seems to be doing quite well. I encourage people to have a look.

Jason, totally loaded, doing his best Blake Undying impression in front of Jack Nicholson, the two of them having a blast. Creepy.

I'll also do whatever it takes to get Dylan's interminable rant to Johnny Depp, and Matt Howl's worshipping of the ground Sarah Michelle Gellar walks on.
....what?

Good luck with your job interview on Monday. There are days when I'd like to make a major career change... but then today, I hired a new person to work in my department. She's so excited, its catchy.
speaking of catchy, those are pretty intense song lyrics... thanks for heading into battle for us gals. I'm sure had I said anything, I'd've heard some of the above comments flung at me.

Regarding your other rant, I kind of wish I'd been here to add support to your arguments. I agree with virtually everything you have posted on the topic of women in comics, women at conventions and men and women in society. I am so glad that I have a son and not a daughter (though that is not without its pitfalls and dangers) and I am doing my best to raise my son to respect women and to appreciate their beauty, certainly, but to also look deeper than that.
We can't change the world by just writing about it or ranting.
We can only do it one day at a time.
One person at a time.
and not to go off on a rant or anything, but the problems run far deeper than that.
Unethical bullying behavior is tolerated and even rewarded in far too many situations and is perpetuated by individuals, corporations, governments and more.
All of us are resposible for everything and everyone.
We are all connected.
What we say, what we do, how we treat others is what defines us. It says to God and the world, 'This is who I am' far more than being defined by our occupation or our role in society or our families.
Be good to one another.
Pay it forward.
Out.

...haha... and don't get me started about feminists...
