When I get mad I post song lyrics

"Mother Of Pearl" by Nellie McKay

Feminists don't have a sense of humor
Feminists just want to be alone (boo-hoo)
Feminists spread vicious lies and rumor
They have a tumor on their funny bone

They say child molestation isn't funny
Rape and degradation's just a crime (lighten up, ladies)
Rampant prostitution, sex for money (what's wrong with that)
Can't these chicks do anything but whine

Dance break
Woo-hoo
(Take it off)

They say cheap objectification isn't witty, it's hot
Equal work and wages worth the fight (sing us a new one)
On demand abortion, every city (okay, but no gun control)
Won't these women ever get a life

Feminists don't have a sense of humor (poor Hilary)
Feminists and vegetarians
Feminists spread vicious lies and rumor
They're far too sensitive to ever be a ham
That's why these feminists just need to find a man

 ---

So I've been busy lately - I landed script number 4 - YAY. Should have it done tomorrow. Been doing a lot of collaboration with Titan.Inc - we have a shared appreciation for spaceships and giant robots. Good things are developing.

Hero High is looking fantastic. We've started inks now! I can't say enough about Diego - he's a treat to work with. Definitely headed for greatness. It's so exciting to see little bits of the other CCCN books coming out.

I just today heard back about a job interview -  I don't want to say too much about it so I don't jinx myself. It's on Monday - this job would represent a major career change.

I wrote up some pages of the Teenage Godz script - more coming when I get the chance. Glad to see so many new pitches coming out. The PlayWRITE campaign seems to be doing quite well. I encourage people to have a look.

Good luck with the job interview. I can see that you're quickly becoming our resident star. Just don't forget the little Zeds when you're writing the Hero High movie.

Oh man - don't say that - it makes me dizzy

Here's a promise; if I get to make a Hero High movie I am inviting you all to the wrap party. You are all on the guest list.

Oh dear, bad move. I think there are quite a few of us here for whom alcohol and famous Hollywood people do not mix.

That's the point - we gotta shake up the joint

Wow. Now there's a thought:

Jason, totally loaded, doing his best Blake Undying impression in front of Jack Nicholson, the two of them having a blast. Creepy.

If that ever happens, somebody get it on tape.

Oh I will. I sure will.
I'll also do whatever it takes to get Dylan's interminable rant to Johnny Depp, and Matt Howl's worshipping of the ground Sarah Michelle Gellar walks on.

....what?

Script 4?! That's great!

Good luck with your job interview on Monday. There are days when I'd like to make a major career change... but then today, I hired a new person to work in my department. She's so excited, its catchy.

speaking of catchy, those are pretty intense song lyrics... thanks for heading into battle for us gals. I'm sure had I said anything, I'd've heard some of the above comments flung at me.

Congrats on script number 4 and good luck with your interview!

Yeah - 4 script is a pretty good haul out of a possible 18 available for the season. I'm hoping to maybe be able to get an agency to return my emails now... we'll see!

I'm stoked about this interview - I heard about this opportunity, and I send 'em my resume and never expected to hear back. I was in the middle of making a snack for my daughter when I got the call - I sort of went all bambi-in-the-headlights for a minute. I'll definitely spill the details after the interview is over...

As for my rants: I don't want to come across as some sort of sex-hating puritan. I like Lara Croft as much as the next guy. But there's a line that gets crossed somewhere; I can enjoy a story with any sort of thing happening in it as long as the story is good. There's stories with murder, rape and mayhem that are classics. Shakespeare wrote a few of them. I like spandex-clad superheroes and red sonja and all kinds of sexiness. Don't ask me to draw the line for you, all I know is that sometimes it gets crossed.

New people are welcome to Z2H - but maybe they could look around a bit first and respect the people that are here already before they just post requests for more hot brunette photos.

It's just common nettiquete. I would rather private message people to bring up that sort of thing, but I can't when they don't have an account.

Wow-somebody poked a stick into a hornet's nest. All those comments and a blog in response to some girl in costume at a convention. After reading it all(that wasn't removed) I, for the most part, have to applaude Dylan for standing up, and speaking up. She was an attractive young lady, I will admit, but there was definately a creepy vibe coming out of some of those comments so kudoes to asclepius and crackwalker for saying something.

See what happens when you miss a day or two here? I just finished reading the epic Whizzywig thread and now this one. Unfortunately (only in terms of being able to read it all) Sebzilla has already removed the remarks so it is a little confusing to follow the whole thing. Having said that I'm proud that Seb stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. Nettiquette is one thing, and you are certainly right about that Dylan. There is a time and a website for everything, and, thank goodness, this is not the website for that.
Regarding your other rant, I kind of wish I'd been here to add support to your arguments. I agree with virtually everything you have posted on the topic of women in comics, women at conventions and men and women in society. I am so glad that I have a son and not a daughter (though that is not without its pitfalls and dangers) and I am doing my best to raise my son to respect women and to appreciate their beauty, certainly, but to also look deeper than that.
We can't change the world by just writing about it or ranting.
We can only do it one day at a time.
One person at a time.
and not to go off on a rant or anything, but the problems run far deeper than that.
Unethical bullying behavior is tolerated and even rewarded in far too many situations and is perpetuated by individuals, corporations, governments and more.
All of us are resposible for everything and everyone.
We are all connected.
What we say, what we do, how we treat others is what defines us. It says to God and the world, 'This is who I am' far more than being defined by our occupation or our role in society or our families.
Be good to one another.
Pay it forward.
Out.

Oh yeah, and I nearly forgot. Congrats on getting four scripts through (the Fantastic Four) and good luck on the interview. Remember, you have the goods and THEY WILL BE LUCKY TO HAVE YOU, not the other way around!

Tenzil- with a boy you only need to worry about one boy in the world. When you have a girl(I have two) you have to worry about them(the boys) all.
