Told you! Muchos congrats to Jennica/Yen, Jason/Lord Maim, Christian/Fetternity, and Dylan/Crackwalker... One of their four stories will be selected by the folks at the Greenberg Fund *next Friday*, and the creator will receive $15,000 to start developing the film script for their comic. Woo hoo!

But this is only the first of many opportunities for our CCN finalists as they continue on their journey... look for more exciting announcements to come. And most importantly, keep honing your own stories! You never know when the next opportunity will pop up for the rest of the community on Zeros 2 Heroes...

Um, the link you posted brings me back to the blogs.  Plus, I thought there were only three winners.  I'm a little confused, but a big congratulations to the finalists!  You guys all put together excellent stories and definitely deserve to get an opportunity like this.  Even though the contest only has one winner, I hope to see something made from each of these properties.

Congrats, folks--job well done!  Dare say, not sure which one'd work the best as a film...I should probably read Abigail's War and Hero High, now shouldn't I?

Looking forward to the next competition, I am!

I just want to point out that although Jessica did not include mention of an edit, that is not the link originally posted and I am not crazy.

Congrats to the top 4!

Now we have to wait another week for the big announcement...

To the winners: Well done and well deserved! Now make sure whoever wins does an awesome job on developing their screenplay and making us all proud!
@ Asclepius: anyone who thinks you're crazy has to go through me.  Confused, disoriented, maybe.  Drunk - possibly.  But crazy - never!
@ Tyler: How on earth did you miss those two gems?  Which other books have you missed?  So much awesomeness!

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving, and maybe pulling a Cmelak for the next little while.

Should be nice and relaxing...

I vouch for Asclepius's non-crazy state in this regard.

@TK: I've read about half the comics when I have the time--I work 11 hour days and my nights are generally busy.  I've not read Abigail's War, Alma, Hero High, Rip Current or Black Jack O'Breen; the rest I've already gone through and liked for the most part.

Honest, they're on me list!

@Asclepius - you are totally crazy... you are seeing blog links everywhere, seriously its a sign of mental breakdown, you should get that checked out.

Okay, nah I'm just joshin'...
But yes, we did originally say 3 shortlisted folk, but two were tied! So rather than pick, we just threw 'em all in the mix.

Wow! I don't know what to say except 'Thanks everyone'!

(everyone except TDC, who hasn't read my book)

;-P

It was a looooong month. I'm glad it's out of my hands now. Nothing left to do but await the final decision.

Sweet Momma what a tough group to choose from - good luck Greenberg Fund.  People congrats - I'd like to point out the amount of hustling that was done by all in getting here over the course of the competition, great job, solid effort.

I already have an image in my head for when the winner is announced next week, the last scene in "Return of the Jedi" where everyone is celebrating.  Luke pauses to get away from those little furballs and looks over to see the glowing spectres of Annakin, Yoda and Obi Wan.  And they all smile at each other, ah soooo beautiful.

Who will be Luke, who will be Obi Wan?  Yoda?  Annakin?  I don't know but good luck to all.

On my way out of the clubhouse for the weekend, or week, or few weeks, I might as well poke the elephant in the room and make the very first prediction: Not to disparage and of the other choices... but Abigail's War has got this one. In the bag? I won't go that far. But I've made my bet. Now you have to see or raise.

Congratulations you guys! I went straight to the news when I logged in so I'll take your word for it that the link didn't work then was magically changed.  OMG!  4 finaists?  I was not expecting that!  With all those tiny incremental heat changes was anything ever tied before now?

As some of you know, I'm travelling now, and have only sporadic access to the 'net -- but I'm SHOCKED! I just thought the finalists would be the top heat people... thought I was out of the running.

Well, er... thank you!! Definitely very exciting. :)

@WillG: I will look for you Tuesday!
