There is a pitch in the pitch doctor (currently on page #2) and likely someone will be kind enough to provide a link for it shortly.  It is called Corpus Callosum and it is written by Z2H member ThePezman.
Now those of us living on the Left Coast of Canada likely recall the amazing exploits of the Original Pezman, the one the only Murray Pezim, past owner of the BC Lions football team.  This guy isn't him, thank goodness!
Jeremy had this idea for a story in which a guy is split in two but both halves of him are kept alive and somehow attached to robotic bodies, leaving us with two Trevors, left and right.
It is science fiction, to be sure, and hard science at that.  It's kind of a neat concept, I think, though I really need to see more, especially some script pages to see how it is going to work.
Don't just take my word for it - head on over and have a quick look.  Let ThePezman know what you think!
For now I'll leave it at: I'm intrigued and want to see more.

Number two in my series of blogs looking at other people's pitches features one of the newest pitches on the site, "Terrorstorm" by Dumo.
Never mind the fact that Dumo used to live in New Westminster, which makes him aces in my book, the fact is he has created a very different cast of characters in his newest pitch, and a potentially very interesting premise.
One thing I was not crazy about was the tagline.  It might work in certain circumstances, but in general I would stay away from ones that just try too hard to be cute.
The elevator pitch is intriguing enough to make me want to read on, so it does its job.  There are a lot of unanswered questions, however, and I assume Dumo wants it that way.  You don't need to tell us - as long as you know.
In the World section Dumo gives us homework.  I can't say I'm a big fan of that, but in this case I think I will take a look one of these days.
The characters are  . . . . let's just say, interesting.  Especially Feral.  Her powers work in a way I have never seen nor heard of before.  I think our friend STURSTEIN would like her very much.
I'd love to comment on the script, but there isn't one yet.
I think this book is almost certainly for adults only, but having said that, it is different enough I would definitely like to see it developed more.

I call it my closing elevator door pitch. How well does it work?

(P.S. There's still time to tell me I'm doing it wrong. Read my pitch script of Celestia to see if it's any better or worse than the sentence pitch.)

I have not written a complete 22 page comic in almost a year, but here we go.

http://www.zeros2heroes.com/pitch/1223

The idea for Celestia came to me last winter. For about a week I had been obsessing over a concept I called "space whale". For some reason, space whale existed a lot. For example: They Might Be Giant's "Apollo 13", the video game "Beyond Good and Evil",  and some terrible children's TV show whose name I don't remember. I kept bringing the idea of space whale to my friends. We started riffing on this idea of anything being more awesome in space. Someone said vampire.

"No, that'd be stupid. You can't have something that's not that cool than put it in space. It'll just be slightly less stupid," and then I blurted out, "Now a werewolf! You wouldn't f*** with a cowboy werewolf in space!"

Then we just kept building to it. Adding words like ninja and pirate, but nothing replaced that original image in my mind of a cowboy werewolf. In space.

This character eventually became Leiland Pak,  one of the seven characters who inhabit the spaceship Hydra in the vast area of space known as Celestia.

The idea of werewolf cowboys eventually drifted to this idea of making a universe where all other universes existed within each one. Science-fiction, pirates, ninjas, etc. And it remained as such for some time. The character that would become Nathanial was once a mute Pirate snatched from his own time.

As I did some research into the cliches of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, I began to notice a lot of overlap. And it made me relalize that these two opposites make one coin. They both search for this utopian world, although by different means. One uses science, the other magic.  This is the central idea behind Celestia. If science existed in one universe, magic could not. I chose to break apart the wall and say that both existed in full force.

So, please, if you have the time, tell me what you think of my pitch. I need some feedback, preferably negative so I know how I can improve. If you're an artist and want to be my best friend, I would kill (not you, though) to have some real concept art for my main characters.

And, oddly enough, vampires will eventually appear.

Fresh from a round of edits courtesy of my beloved cadre of beta readers, I give you "Lifetime Piling Up," the 8th and final issue of Face the Music. At least, "final" in the sense of "haven't done any rewrites yet."

Yeah, I'm surprised I'm not posting some long, pretentious rambling about how I'm sad to part with these characters and everything, too. But, as Dr. Manhattan so wonderfully put it - "Nothing ever ends." And Face the Music is no exception. This may be the last rough draft of the last issue, but the story isn't over. Not by a long shot. But that's for another bat time on the same bat channel, loves. Everyone who has shown their support will be properly thanked, don't worry. I probably wouldn't have even finished were it not for everyone's help and input, so you deserve as much credit as I can give.

And if you love it for whatever reason, feel free to pop over by the Property Page, because all the cool kids are doing it. Unfortunately, it's still unable to upload pictures so it's not quite so aesthetic. Hopefully that will be taken care of soon. Remember that all critiques and fandom are welcome and appreciated!

Keep tuning in. Never know what surprises may pop up.

...Issue #7 of Face the Music, Fool in the Rain, is up and available for critique here! I actually remembered to make it not private this time. Readers who have been following this series and have found themselves bitterly disappointed at the recent lack of explosions will be pleased with this issue.

And for the sake of thoroughness, here is my property page! By now, you pretty much know what I plan on saying regarding crits and fandom, right? Right. You're bloody well right.

Only one more issue to go now. Not sure if I'm happy or sad about that.

Issue #6 of Face the Music, Clampdown, is back from the beta readers and up on the series's Properties Page now (where all issues past 1 are listed in the links section). This is the issue where I decide that "Kurt Russell" is now a verb. Also, there's violence to make up for all the talking in the last issue. Auto can calm down now - consider this a "congratulations on your new job" present.

Only two issues left. Not sure how I feel about that.

Input (and fandom) is always appreciated!

Edit: Here is a link to the issue itself if you don't want to go straight to the properties page. Options are always nice to have.

This post got eaten the first time and now I have to type it all out again aaargh. I blame Steve Harper.

So okay here I am and so on. Basic information: I'm a 25 year old Cornishman who was never likely to be anything but a writer, and for the best part of a decade I've had a concept brewing in my heard which I'm sure would already have won me eight million Eisner awards if only I could draw. This concept is called "Prophets". It's a fantasy/drama/quasi-Superhero type thing which could really use an artist. I have the whole story arc planned out, JMS-style, from start to finish, and I'll even be posting more of the scripts as I edit them (or write them in the first place in some cases).

This website is a fantastic idea. Canada has totally leapfrogged Australia as my first choice of country to move to if the Tories finally succeed in destroying Britain altogether. I'll stand on guard for thee.

I've also planned out an entire four-year run on Aquaman, but I'm not holding my breath on that one...

Issue #5 of Face the Music, Happy Together, has been popped into the links section at my properties page for any and all potentially interested parties. It should be noted that BigRed01 has managed to read the first four issues and - to my knowledge - has yet to experience any hemorrhaging or intestinal discomfort as a result. So FtM has that going for it.

Only 3 more issues to go! And I promise more explosions to come since you've been given mostly exposition as of late.

From the depths of my mind, nascent of confusion and flashes in dreams comes another pitch by yours truly.

A few days ago I had a flash of the eyes of two girls hiding behind the bushes. From there it snowballed into a story of two sisters, daughters of the Alpha male and female of a pack of werewolves. Their parent killed by the Beta male of the pack and the girls being next on the queue, they run away, far away, from the pack and the Beta's murderous intent.

Then came the hard part, coming up with a premise and plot. Thinking hard all day today, I finally came with a decent story I'm proud to call "Red Moon."

I was having problems naming this thing, as all the good names were taken. Then I googled Children of the Moon and it showed me this:

which covered pretty much what I was thinking of this series. Enjoy.

Because I am a horrible person, Issue 4 of Face the Music - "The Tide is High" - is all uploaded. I know most of you haven't even had a chance to read 1 yet, but the point is it's there in case you're interested. The good news is, this project is now officially half finished, so you won't have a huge 80+ issue run to peruse through! I also updated the pitch just a little bit to add one more theme I'm hoping to delve into. It erased all my rating stars :(

Also, for some reason new comments aren't showing up for me. Someone apparently left me one today, and I really appreciate it, but I won't be able to address it until everything starts showing up again. Even if it's something along the lines of "Riot, please set yourself on fire while choking on a chicken bone because you're pretty bad at this." I'll reply and take your suggestion into consideration even if I don't necessarily end up going through with it. Fire is fun, but it hurts kinda.

If you've got anything to say, then by all means say it! And I'm not going to rush anyone or anything - you guys have lives and I am glued to my laptop grading papers a goodly portion of the time. It's all understood!

Uploaded the second issue of Face the Music today; this one is titled "People are Strange." So if you have a few minutes to kill, check out my pathetic attempt to shoehorn a mention of seaborgium into my oeuvre.

Seaborgium is underrated.

Anyways, I was wondering if you guys think I should write up some character descriptions or not. Part of me wants to provide a point of reference for interested readers, definitely, but I also don't want to give too much of their arcs and backgrounds away too soon. What do you guys think? How do you end up handling descriptions when the characters and their tics and experiences are so closely intertwined with the plot without giving too much away?? Be interested in hearing what the community has to say :) Thanks!
