If Puff Daddy *ducks, swish* would stop chasing me around, *dodges, clank* I might find time to read the darned thing.
*Look out!  Dekes left and goes right*
Gotta go!

Hey, my brothas and sistas. Today on YGCTO!, we've got something very special: the TV show Pushing Daisies.
Daisies is the tale of the Piemaker Ned (Lee Pace) , who has a very unusual skill: with a touch he can return the dead to life, and with a second touch return them to the grave. But if they are alive for more than a minute, someone else will die to take their place. All is well and good as he helps PI Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) solve murders by asking the victims. But when he brings childhood love Charlotte, or Chuck (Anna Friel) back to life, he begins a VERY hands-off relationship. One touch, and she's gone for good.

The show has a brilliant, fairy-tale style narrative accompanied by stunning Tim Burton-esque sets and quirky characters. Of note is Kristin Chenowith as the waitress Olive Snook who is madly in love with Ned, but knows nothing of his secret.

While the show may seem too odd at the start, a few minutes into it you'll find that it is easily accessible and extremely light-hearted for a show about death. Coupled with one of the most innocent and sweet romances ever on TV, and you have something anyone can enjoy.

So check out Pushing Daisies, Wednesdays and 8 on ABC. It's a beautiful and delightful show with just a touch of magic and love.

I second Panic's recommendation. Pushing Daisies is a special show. Buy the first season on DVD and get caught up. And while you're shopping, pick up creator Bryan Fuller's other series on DVD,...

I, the mighty and foreboding Panicman123, have decided to start a new...thing. As "Ask Panicman123" was a shameless rip-off, this is new. It's called, "Panicman123's You gotta Check this Out!" Each week I'll blog about something that you gotta check out, be it books, comics, music, movies, or anything I want. Best of all, you can send me your suggestions for things I should check out and then I can write about them.
This week: the LA-based Irish rock band Flogging Molly. Look them up and listen. Their brand of punk-Celt is awe-inspiring and is sure to make your blood pump. Sometimes political (Drunken Lullabies) sometimes pirate-themed (Salty Dog), and sometimes folk-ish (Factory Girls), there's something for everyone.

Another great thing about them; they're all in-band. Seeing them live is even better than listening to the record, because every instrument is accounted for. Not to mention the smoking-hot violinist. Molly is one of those bands that you feel in your soul as you listen, and the music consumes you. YOU GOTTA CHECK IT OUT!

Here's a link; this speech leaves me breathless:

Next week: Send me your suggestions!

If you like Flogging Molly, you'll most likely like Spirit of the West. They're even better live, as well, but I couldn't find a good quaility YouTube video of them live, so here's a...
