Hey gang..  just letting you know that you weren't actually supposed to be able to vote on your own creations in the Direct to Development contest we are currently running.

Some of you tried, and kudos to you for taking advantage of my technical lapse, but I'm sorry to say that the problem has been resolved and your votes won't count.  :-)

We were getting tired of coming up with quiz questions every day,
so we updated the front page super fun quiz to accept community submissions.

After you vote on the quiz of the day, you will see a new option that allows you to submit your own quiz questions and answers.  You can submit as many as you want. 

Be creative!  Be funny! 

P.S.  We reserve the right to not use anything offensive, boring or duplicate.  :-) 

Today we launched a more integrated version of the User Homepages.

Your creations, collections and connections are all displayed in a more coherent interface, and we've also added a little personal guestbook-type thing so you can leave each other messages (that everyone else can see).

We feel that this will go a long way towards helping our community members get to know eachother better and make new friends.

So we ran into some confusion today (Monday Feb 4 2008) about the Comic Creation Nation chart.

Some unexpected behaviour on the server-side led to people being confused about the actual winner, so here's what we've done to correct this and hopefully avoid these problems in the future.

Going forward (starting right now), on Mondays the chart will be frozen in time for 24 hours to show the standings at the time of the winner being locked in (which is midnight CST on Monday).

This means that it will not update at all on Monday, and it will only start updating again for the current week on Tuesday.  Changes to your votes are still being recorded, but those changes are not reflected on the chart.

We decided to do this to show everyone the previous week's winner, and also to allow everyone to review the chart for the week, and see where their favourite pitches ranked and how they  rose or fell as compared to the previous week.

Sorry again for the confusion and quasi-panic that happened this morning.  We're working hard to make this whole contest process as clear and easy as possible. 

Hi gang, I just wanted to pop in here and tell you that we finally solve the performance issue with the blogs.  As you may already have noticed, they are much faster, and this isn't accidental.  It should be faster from now on.

If anyone notices other problems, PM me or reply to this blog post.
