Hey Lotus fans,

Very sorry to have dropped off the face of the Earth for a little while but I think a lot of you would understand. Bad timing aside - just as the Greenberg contest wrapped up I was contacted by an up-and-coming video game company. The name I cannot reveal until at least January.

You want a success story? Through link passing, Facebook sharing and about 99.99% fluke, the company president stumbled upon my info and skill set as an interactive storyteller with a background in journalism. Through 6-degrees of separation he managed to grab my contact info and asked to see some of my work. Well, obviously I pointed him this way to check out Lotus because this is by far the best piece of work I can show anyone at this point in my career. The pres actually printed out the first issue of Lotus and started reading through the second issue.

To make a long and exhausting story short, he offered me a gig to script 2 video games for his company based on my style and attention to detail with character development. One game will be released in January (the web version only) and the high profile game will be released in Septmeber of 09.

NDA restricts me from getting into any details but I did ask him if I could make the news of me landing a gig through the comic public to the Z2H community.

The experience has been so euphoric and so amazing for both the company and myself that I've been asked to stay on board to script all of the dialogue and the entire story for the second game. The original contract was to write 12 character backstories but once I finished with that I pitched that I should be writing the entire story because I knew it so well and had the opportinity to develop the entire mythology behind the game.

That's the extent of the information I'm allowed to share, but I'll keep everyone posted as more info becomes public.

So.... Thanks to Z2H, thanks to all of your and thanks to Matt, Jessica, Julian, Miguel, Ian, Ed and everyone involved with Lotus thus far. You guys helped me get work in an industry I never thought possible!

BTW (sorry for this skyscraper blog post) Lotus isn't dead and I'm getting a break next month from the game to work on some other projects (mostly just Lotus). So keep checking out the page and I'll do my best to keep you all posted.

Lotus.

That is one of the coolest concepts I've seen. Excellent job.

In fact, it's so cool that I'm actually going to go against my norm and actually click that "Thumbs Up" button.

After a few months of battling it out through ratings and heat, I have to admit, I couldn't agree more with the finalists. Lotus will still be kicking around for a long time though, so if you're a fan, keep coming back to check out the latest info.

Best of luck to Christian, Jennica, Jason and Dylan - Make us proud!

Hey everyone,

With Greenberg just around the corner I thought I'd share a little info with those who have been following Lotus since the beginning. From my understanding the Greenberg Fund folks (or the Fun-Folk) will be deciding between the top three books by ways of how much "heat" they have.

From the looks of it Lotus is hovering around the middle so unless there's some kind of miracle, it doesn't look like Lotus will be given the grant.

With that being said, I'd like to direct your attention to all of the books and the wonderful work the writers of Zeros 2 Heroes have put together. From Blake Undying's amazing ongoing stories and viral concepts, to the sheer brilliance of stories like Abigail's War and Gustav Hayes, I think there's a ridiculous amount of potential.

For those of you who have neglected to get back on the horn and start paying attention to some of these great properties, I think it's time to start getting back in the game.

There's plenty of time for Lotus to continue, and to be honest, I'm perfectly happy having the one issue complete. I think everyone should start voting, blogging, commenting and collecting as much as they can from all of the Comic Creation Nation Winners and Beta Books because at the end of the day you can always say that you helped with the creation of the next Big Comic Franchise - Okay maybe not "Big" but definitely entertaining to say the least.

I've met all of the winners (some in person and others via email) and I truly believe that any of them would be amazing embassadors of Z2H. All that's left to do is get involved!

Check out all of the amazing comic book action and get have your say!

Later,

Lotus.

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for offering advice on how to present the 3rd issue of Lotus. What I'm probably going to do is create some linking structures between the second and third scripts where people can easily bounce back and forth between the two as well as read both one after the other.

I'm going to leave the Issue 2 Pitch up on the Lotus Page for one more week and then replace it with the third. When this happens I'll drop in a link so everyone who wants to can check it out.

As for the character breakdown, I'm actually working on something that could help. Sorry to keep everyone waiting, but rest assure, I'm on it.

Thanks again

@Lotus: keep working it, man!  I'm looking forward to seeing where the entire four issue story arc goes!

I think bouncing between the comic and the pitch for the second issue is a bit much for people to keep up with at this point. Why don't you put something up that explains all of the characters in one and what they mean to the story so far?

Hey everyone,

If you've been following Lotus from the beginning (or just recently picked it up) then you'll notice that there is a complete first issue and complete second script in the pitch doctor.

Well, I've gone through all of the feedback everyone has given me (a HUGE THANKS by the way) and I'm almost ready to start showing the 3rd script.

My problem is that www.lotuscomic.com can only hold one pitch so in order for me to display a third script, I'm going to have to remove the second. I'm not sure how well this would go over because I'm pretty pleased with how the page works right now. Once you've read the comic, you can easily read the second script because it's right on the page. I've thought about posting script pages and details right into blog posts, but I want to reserve the majority of the space for you guys to blog.

So, everyone.... How long should Lotus 2 remain on the property page?

Thanks

Lotus.

I like Jordan's character a lot and mostly because I don't know the answers to these questions. Also, I don't know if we should be so quick to slot Jordan in as an antagonist. You never know with...
