Hey, dirtbomb! Did you hear Miguel Lopez is blogging about a contest on Z2H for artists? Check it out if you are interested!

Also, I want you to know that I had no intention of insulting you or your artwork. Everything I wrote was constructive criticism and inquiry.

    Are we cool?

I don't mind the validation - I would do the same and, in fact, I'm jealous of your resources. The most I'd ever learned about the craft was working with a group of like minded artists. We sort of fed off each other. I miss those days and I was hoping this site might be, at least, a place where I could recieve objective criticism of my work by fellow artists. I guess I was assuming other artists felt the same, but you know what happens when you assume. Anyway, I'm not taking it personal.

The advice given to me regarding sample pages was basic content - nothing to do with pacing. It had nothing to do with PERFECT pages or whatever. You're reading too much into what I'm typing here.

Wow. Dude, don't get defensive. I'm not attacking you or your artwork. It's an observation and a critique from information at hand. Now that I know these pages were part of something larger they make more sense.

The reason I asked if your'd worked with a pro is because every pro I've spoken to has always given me the same advice regarding sample scripts. (I don't know if the pages you've posted were part of a sample script).

I'm sure its just that the pages are old. I know I've made great leaps in my panel layouts since starting in sequential art. I'm referring specifically to some of your pulled back shots. A panoramic view from afar slows the pace and you have these spaced amidst closer shots that move things forward. Mind you, I don't know what the story is about in your sequentials, so maybe there's good reason for this, but the panels don't flow together to create a seamless story.

My pleasure. I've been meaning to post some sequentials of my own - I have a few sample page sets I've done over the years, plus there's the new Witch Hunter pages coming up.

Have you ever worked with a comic book artist before? I'm asking because of some of your panel placement and direction. You break your "flow" often - I can't tell if the pages are supposed to read slow or fast. Have you worked off of a Marvel sample script before?

Hey - I can't see your gallery - you might not have it set to 'public' - I dig your DA gallery though!
