Movies 'REBOOT' COMING TO THEATERS AND TO THE WEB The early computer-animated series will become a trilogy and a Web comic
LOCATION: In the Game Cubes (no, not those GameCubes) THE SKINNY: It is really hard to watch the 1994-2001 computer-animated series REBOOT these days. As with just about everything else computer-animated, the technology has come so far in such a short time that it’s hard to believe those early episodes captured the imagination enough to warrant a big-budget trilogy of feature-length movies. But guess what? Rainmaker Animation is doing just that. The series is being developed as a trilogy for the big screen, and in conjunction with this, the Web site Zeroes 2 Heroes will feature a Web comic based on the series to be created by writer Jeff Campbell, producer Shea Wageman, artist Shaun Martens and designer Kelly Schmidt. It was on Zeroes 2 Heroes that the company ran a contest for fans to choose the plot line they wanted most to see developed for the big screen. The winner? A storyline about ‘Gnosis’, a self-aware computer program that tries to take over the Internet. Er, hey, didn’t they do something like that in TRON…?
