TELETOON’s Michael Goldsmith Chats with members of Zeros 2 Heroes

Vancouver, British Columbia (December 18, 2007) – Zeros 2 Heroes is teaming with Canadian television station TELETOON to put undiscovered online comic creators in touch with Teletoon’s Director of Original Content, Michael Goldsmith. On December 18, 2007 at 6:00 PM PST, Zeros 2 Heroes will host a 1-hour moderated chat where members of the Zeros 2 Heroes online community can chat with Goldsmith about animation opportunities at TELETOON, pitching new projects, and the process of how projects get put into development.

Giving members of the online community a chance to chat live with Michael Goldsmith is a big step as Zeros 2 Heroes continues to give opportunities to upcoming and undiscovered writers, artists, and creators alike. The initial focus of Zeros 2 Heroes is to publish online comics, but the cross-platform potential from comics to film, television, and video games is something the online social networking company is fully aware of. Giving unknown writers and artists a chance to chat with an industry veteran like Michael Goldsmith is just another way to help unknown creators take the next step.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting Michael Goldsmith’s chat on our site,” says Zeros 2 Heroes Chairman Paul Gertz. “TELETOON’s mandate to reach out and find fresh new creative talent fits in perfectly with Zeros 2 Heroes’ mission to bring bold new works to comic fans worldwide, and this chat is a great opportunity for aspiring creators to be ‘in the room’ with someone of Michael’s stature.”

TELETOON continues their initiative to be involved with the development of Canadian artists, and working with Zeros 2 Heroes fits their program to encourage emerging talent and promote future animators. Playing an active role in the development and creation of Canadian programming, TELETOON seeks to nurture homegrown talent through various industry initiatives.

“TELETOON is committed to the Canadian animation industry and I think that this chat is a great way to hear from Canadian writers and artists on a platform we’ve only begun to explore,” says TELETOON’s Director of Original Content Michael Goldsmith.  “The community of Zeros to Heroes appear to be a very talented bunch and I look forward to hearing from them.”

Goldsmith is an animation-programming veteran who has been involved in the brand management of the animated series 6TEEN, Wayside, Jane and the Dragon, Jacob Two Two, and Grossology. He was also part of the team dedicated to the qubo project, which is a television and multimedia network supporting child literacy and positive values.
