Fans Crown Blake Undying Writer Jason Cook As First Winner Of Canada Comic Creation Nation “Well hopefully Blake Undying attracts enough attention to become a series in production. That would be the ideal outcome, as over the course of months working on the pitch I’ve outlined a plan with multiple overlapping mini-arcs that could carry the story easily through a three or four year run,” says Cook on the excitement around his pitch. Blake Undying follows the story of a man who continually attempts suicide only to discover that the task has become impossible. He then sets out on a journey to find another individual of the same stature to put him out of his misery. Jason Cook will now work with professional comic editors and artists to produce his very first comic that will be published online by Zeros 2 Heroes Media. As part of the agreement, Zeros 2 Heroes Media not only produces Cook’s very first book, but they will be working to get fan and media driven publicity from Cook’s hometown of Winnipeg Manitoba. “Most big publishers are not going to read cold submissions, but they will read smaller press comics. In fact, many of the big publishers do their writer scouting from indie books,” says Zeros 2 Heroes Editor-in Chief Paul Dini. Zeros 2 Heroes Media will be providing Cook with his own online publication as well as putting together a plan to help get the word out to various media sources. The intention is to have not only a piece of professional work for his portfolio, but also to help him launch his processional writing career. “Fans know what a good story is and where it can go so we trust them to decide what ideas we should invest in.
