I've been creating stories for as long as I can remember. As a kid I was always drawing comic strips and creating new characters. In high school that love of stories turned to writing screenplays and that's where my passion lies. I've been writing scripts ever since. Last summer I wrote a short film that has nearly finished post production, I'm currently writing/developing a web series and I have a few feature specs on the go which I hope to finish by summer. I spend my days working at a large Vancouver post production facility.

In high school during Career and Personal Planning my "Plan A" was always Filmmaker. For several assigmnets my "Plan B" was a ninja. I actually managed to apply my personality test results to traits needed by a ninja, and I actually passed those assignments. Perhaps the class isn't worthy of being taken seriously. Regardless, this could be seen as my Plan B.

Patrick is a shy nerd with low self-esteem. Aside from his part-time job at a frozen yogurt stand in the mall, he?s also a martial arts expert! Unfortunately no one knows that because he?s never been about to prove it. Patrick?s low self esteem and fear of failure make him unable to take risks. He wears a traditional white gi to give the appearance of a serious martial artist, but to most people he?s just a joke. And how can he expect anyone to believe in him if he doesn?t even believe in himself?

His friends are a group of goths who don?t really respect him but enjoy the fact that he?s different. Without real jobs, they spend their days mocking the sellouts who?ve given in to the corporate machine. These sellouts include Michelle, the object of Patrick?s secret affection. She?s successful, beautiful and way out his league. But she just seems so sweet and nice, and if he could only get the courage to talk to her he just might find out.

Patrick is surrounded by people who bring him down: his boss is arrogant and condescending; Brent, the jerk from Electronics Shack across the mall never misses an opportunity to rag on his outfit; and the Drunk at the local pub harasses women walking by each night, including Michelle. Patrick feels helpless, frustrated and pissed off.

After a failed attempt to stop a shoplifter, complete with ridicule from Brent, Patrick heads home in a cloud of shame. When the Drunk pipes up, Patrick lashes out in anger only to have a beer dumped on his head. That does it, Patrick?s finally had enough.

With his white gi dirty again (it?s so hard to keep white clean), he dons his black gi, complete with a black mask, and heads back out. As Michelle passes by the pub on her way home, the Drunk reaches out for his usual attempt to get her attention. But this time Patrick steps in. Behind his mask he has a new confidence. The Drunk jumps up looking for a fight but Patrick reveals himself to be a true martial arts master and flattens him. Michelle is impressed and grateful for her mystery savior.

Once clear, Patrick whips off the mask and takes a hit from his inhaler. Brent catches him and once again takes the opportunity laugh at his new outfit. However this time Patrick doesn?t care, he knows what he can do. Patrick simply grins and heads back home.
