“If you would create something, you would be something”

Truer words have never been spoken. X-MEN #1 – the moment I fell in love with the comic book form. From there, my paper route earnings were permanently funneled to the local Comic Book Store. I snapped up all I could afford, I would trade with friends and dream of my own characters and extensions to current favourites.

I stopped collecting for awhile during the whole “put a crazy cover on everything and sell high” phase in comics. All I cared about were the stories, if the story was great I would by it – I never cared about the monetary investment. My inspirations are Valiant, DareDevil, X-Men, and early WILDCATS/CyberForce.

Formally – I have no writing training (none, nada, zipo), I still have dreams every now and again of failing OAC English (I didn’t but for some reason I have this recurring dream). This whole writing thing can be incredibly daunting, but the rewards from seeing someone read and comment on your work are immeasurable (yes even the bad comments). If anything they serve to validate that you have piqued their interest, and if you have opened up that door then the rest is up to you (or rather me as this is my bio).

For the past few years I have felt the yearning to write – something, anything – random thoughts and descriptions penetrate my train of thought when I should be working. Zeros2Heroes is my outlet.

Enjoy.

There was no big event, no catastrophe that started it all. It was just a law, invented by whom I don?t know, all I know is that the majority of the world?s governments had agreed with a diagnosis by the Imperium Corporation that an infection was killing our children and the only way to stop it was with a vaccine that they just happened to manufacture. On a child?s birthday they were ?vaccinated? with Pensinc-7. If you began to exhibit certain changes you were deemed infected, but it wasn?t too late for you, Imperium wouldn?t give up on you. No they would quarantine you and do whatever it took to save your life and provide you all the amenities you would require.

At least that?s what they were telling everybody.

In reality, Imperium wanted to harvest our abilities into society; we would become the foundation upon which society?s evolution would be based upon. Society would not grow, it would leapfrog innovations. With these promises and achievements in hand, Imperium has the world convinced of the good they provide through their Research and Development. There still remain a few autonomous countries that do not believe in the need for the Persinc-7 vaccine and reject the evolutionary changes that Imperium develops, but alas the majority of the world?s governments wait hands on knee for the next big change that will advance mankind further.
