Laughable stuff, right? They closed it down in 1995 because it was so pointless. That's what they told us. That was a lie. What they didn't tell us was that Nazi Germany was experimenting with Psychics during WWII, and that the US and Russia became partners in a new age of psychic research. What they didn't tell us was that the Cold War was a lie, a cover-up for stuff that was a hell of a lot scarier. What they didn't tell us was that instead of being a waste of money, Stargate got results. They didn't tell us about Natayla, the psychic whose insanity nearly destroyed the world. They didn't tell us about EDGAR, the eerily human AI. And they certainly didn't tell us about Viktor Mycroft, the Russian doctor who destroyed Stargate and it's hidden sub-project Advent in order to save everybody. But what they didn't know about was a small child who was left alive, and disapeared. A child who could move things with his mind. Me. My name is Ryan Shepherd. I am the last survivor of Advent...or so I thought. Ever since I was little, I've been on the run from those who would tie up lose ends. From the Shadow Men who find me in my dreams.
